Locked vs unlocked and what it means
A “locked” device is one that is restricted to operate only on the network of the carrier from which it was purchased. An “unlocked” device, on the other hand, is not restricted to a single carrier and can be used with SIM cards or eSIMs from different carriers. Unlocking a device typically involves meeting certain conditions set by the original carrier. You may need to contact your current carrier to have your phone unlocked.
