Bringing your own device (BYOD) to Snapfōn first starts with ensuring that your current device is unlocked and compatible, use Snapfōn’s compatibility checker on the BYOD Page to get started, and then following these few steps.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you with the process:

1. Check Device Compatibility

Before bringing your own device to Snapfōn, ensure that it is compatible with our network.

  1. Check if your device is Unlocked: Ensure your device is unlocked from your previous carrier. If you are unsure simply call your previous carrier to confirm.
  2. Unlock your Device: If your device is locked, follow the requirements set by your previous carrier to have your device unlocked through them.

2. Purchase a Snapfōn Wireless Service Plan

If your device is compatible, the next step is to obtain a Snapfōn Service Plan.

  • Visit Snapfōn’s website: When Bringing Your Own Device we recommend first  reviewing our Bring Your Own Device page to help navigate you and answer all your questions. Although you can still start at the Family Plan page or Plans page and choose BYOD as you navigate through choosing a plan and building your account. If creating a Family Plan not at lines need to bring their own device, as few or as many can while other’s can choose to purchase a new device from our many options avaialble.

Once you have the SIM card, insert it into your device.

  • Power off your device: Turn off your device before inserting the SIM card.
  • Insert SIM card: Locate your device’s SIM card slot (check the user manual if needed) and insert the Snapfon SIM card.
  • Power on your device: Turn your device back on.

4. Activate the SIM Card

After inserting the SIM card, you need to activate it.

  • Visit Snapfon’s activation page: Go to the activation section on Snapfon’s website.
  • Enter necessary information: Provide the required information, such as the SIM card number (usually printed on the card) and your device’s IMEI number (dial *#06# to find it).
  • Follow prompts: Complete the activation process as instructed on the website.

5. Configure APN Settings

To ensure that your device can connect to the internet and send/receive MMS, you might need to configure the APN (Access Point Name) settings.

  1. Access APN settings: Go to your device’s settings menu. This is usually found under “Mobile Networks” or “Cellular Networks.”

6. Test Your Device

After activation and configuration, test your device to ensure it is working properly.

  1. Make a call: Place a test call to ensure voice services are working.
  2. Send a text: Send a test SMS to ensure messaging services are working.
  3. Use mobile data: Check your mobile data connection by browsing the internet or using a data-dependent app.
